Had a very long day yesterday, what with night classes and speech-writing. Today’s been much better as I nailed the speech I gave today and then napped while listening to the Boars, Gore, and Swords podcast by Ivan Hernandez and Red Scott. Refreshing nap, followed by a little falsetto singing along with Justice’s remix of MGMT’s “Electric Feel” (2007). That reminded me that one of the things I wanted to do with summer; besides learning how to cook and having a good art-output, was practicing my falsetto voice. I’m by no means any good at singing, I’ve never been in a school chorus and it’s been ages since I’ve sang in a play – but I’d like to just practice falsetto singing on my own. I figure practicing along with enough songs will build my ability to match notes and stuff like that.
One last note, a record came in the mail today! It’s Antonio Carlos Jobim’s 1965 sophomore release “The Wonderful World of Antonio Carlos Jobim.” I’ts a great bossa nova record, and I’m going to surprise a friend with it, hopefully, if he doesn’t read this blog post first.
