It has been a while since I talked about what was going on in the present tense. I’m still only 5/9ths done with the England story, and honestly, that will carry me into July. So let’s talk about now.
Right now, I’m having myself a little retreat. Four job apps sent, though one is technically a job inquiry. Another week goes by. Just keeping at the jobs game. I think, what would have helped, all the way back on June 1st–is if I promised myself to keep track of how many job apps I’ve sent. This is no way to live! Wondering, how many is it now? I should have kept a list, I should have been more organized from the start–though it’s never too late to start anew. So starting today I’m building a new list. “Jobs I have applied to since revamping my résumé.”
That’s my optimism at work. For me it’s never too late to look at your surroundings for instance, and clean up and reinvent. That’s what I did at the top of the month–cleaned my room, dusted the apartment, rubbed the grime out of every corner and off of every wall.
Like Agent Dale Cooper said about giving yourself a gift, once a day, every day–I need to remember that that’s my mantra, my life motto. That’s how I ended up with Garnet, Rose Quartz, and Lapis Lazuli in my room–three chakra crystals from my local esoteric store. Three agents to help me meditate and keep cool.
That’s how I ended up at Hemingways’ for a grapefruit daiquiri, celebrating cocktail hour on a Thursday afternoon. You need to keep your spirits up, positive energy gets you hired as much as anything.
