Peace, Punch, Party
The week from the 18th-24th was really special. On Monday I had another great time at a Planned Parenthood fundraiser, which rolled into food and drink at one of my favorite spots in Lawrenceville. Then for the next few days work went really smoothly; I even caught a little of the Penguins v. Rangers game at Silky’s on Thursday, which happened to be a Full Moon night. This messed with my usual lunar routine, but I still came up with some new goals for the next fortnight.
- Exercise for seven days straight
- Stop blaming yourself for things that are out of your control
And those two things have actually really worked out. Today marks the fourth day in a row I’ve exercised, which is a great streak, and if I can make seven days in a row work, hopefully that can roll into eight days or more. And for what it’s worth, I’m feeling pretty at peace too.
The week climaxed at a pre-finals party held by the Campus Women’s Organization, which I kind of felt would be my last hoorah with some of these people. Far from feeling melancholy about it I just took the chance to hang, chat with people, and of course drink. (I got a pitcher from Target and filled it with a homemade coconut rum punch, which I tried my best to share). Honestly, I think I knew more people there from Rainbow than I did from CWO, but it was pretty perfect. The end of college for a lot of friends and acquaintances, but just a solid Saturday for me.
